NEW federal funding opportunities available

The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 (HHFKA) amended Section 18 of the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act (NSLA) to establish a Farm to School Program in order to assist eligible entities, through grants and technical assistance, in implementing farm to school programs that improve access to local foods in eligible schools.

This funding opportunity announcement solicits applications for the Rural Policy Analysis Program.  The purpose of this program is to support research and analysis of key policy issues affecting rural communities that informs policy makers. 

This announcement solicits applications for the Rural Health Network Development (RHND) Program.  The purpose of this program is to support mature, integrated rural health care networks that have combined the functions of the entities participating in the network in order to address the health care needs of the targeted rural community. 

The primary purpose of the EB TNGP is to support a range of Tele-Emergency care programs that will allow for the analysis of a significant volume of patient encounters to allow for detailed study and analysis of patient outcomes in rural areas. 

The purpose of this grant program is to: 1) purchase automated external defibrillators (AEDs) that have been approved, or cleared for marketing, by the Food and Drug Administration; 2) provide defibrillator and basic life support training in automated external defibrillator usage through the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, or other nationally recognized training courses; and 3) place the AEDs in rural communities with local organizations.

The Health Center Program supports patient-directed public and private nonprofit organizations that provide primary and preventive health care services to the Nation’s medically underserved.  The purpose of the SAC funding opportunity is to ensure continued access to comprehensive, culturally competent, quality primary health care services for communities and vulnerable populations currently served by the Health Center Program.

This announcement solicits applications for Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) Part B AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) Training and Technical Assistance program.  The purpose of this funding is to build the capacity of ADAPs through tools and technical assistance to maximize the impact of ADAPs in improving the health outcomes of people living with HIV in a changing health care environment. 

This announcement solicits applications for the Rural Health Network Development Planning Grant Program (“Network Planning”).    The purpose of the Network Planning program is to assist in the development of an integrated healthcare network, if the network participants do not have a history of formal collaborative efforts. 

The purpose of the Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Program is to increase diversity and improve distribution among health professionals, and to develop and maintain a health care workforce that is prepared to deliver high quality care to rural and underserved areas and populations. This is achieved through the development and enhancement of educational and training networks among communities, academic institutions, and community-based organizations.

The purpose of this program is to reduce the incidences of morbidity and mortality related to opioid overdoses in rural communities through the purchase and placement of emergency devices used to rapidly reverse the effects of opioid overdoses and training of licensed healthcare professionals and emergency responders on their use.

“Telehealth Resource Centers (TRCs) assist health care organizations, health care networks,and health care providers in the implementation of cost-effective telehealth programs to serve rural and medically underserved areas and populations.

 The purpose of the Network Planning program is to assist in the development of an integrated healthcare network, if the network participants do not have a history of formal collaborative efforts. 

The purpose of this program is to facilitate a comprehensive public health approach to prevent suicide in institutions of higher education. The grant is designed to assist colleges and universities in building essential capacity and infrastructure to support expanded efforts to promote wellness and help-seeking of all students. Additionally, this grant will offer outreach to vulnerable students, including those experiencing substance abuse and mental health problems who are at greater risk for suicide and suicide attempts.
