For Communities

EHF is activating communities by strengthening collaboratives, coalitions, grantee organizations, and congregations to build a health-promoting Texas.

Our Community Engagement team’s work focuses on building the capacity of grantee organizations, congregations, and coalitions. Through this work, we hope to raise the voices of all people and build connections that transcend difference. This goal reflects our belief that healthy communities are created when diverse people join together to develop community-driven, people-centered, health-oriented systems.

Our aim is to provide the most appropriate guidance possible by customizing support to meet the needs of grantee organizations, congregations, or coalitions. Through the Activating Community Voice program, we help with planning community engagement efforts, and convening and facilitating stakeholders. This tailored program includes interactive workshops, coaching and technical assistance.

EHF also launched the Collaborating for Healthy Communities Initiative aimed at strengthening existing health-focused coalitions and collaborative efforts by improving their effectiveness, leadership, and sustained ability to take action to improve health.
