On the Road with EHF in July

We're spreading our vision of transformation to healthy communities and we're always learning new ways to reach that vision.

Below is a small sample of the events, celebrations and meetings EHF staff attended in July:

That's just a portion of EHF fellow Alithea McFarlane's testimony at a Texas Health and Human Services Commission hearing in Houston supporting extension of the Medicaid 1115 waiver in Texas.

CEO Elena Marks moderated the Building Strong Neighborhoods, Building Healthy Neighborhoods Summer Salon in Houston presented by the Center for Houston's Future.



Elena Marks led a convening with community leaders who are interested in primary care access in Bastrop.



EHF's Jem Marshall and Brian Sasser joined Freedom School students from St. James Episcopal Church in Austin at a National Day of Social Action event in Houston. The group heard from several speakers about the many different ways poverty affects health. The students then discussed ways they can make a difference. More than 200 children from Children Defense Fund's Freedom Schools program attended the event.
