The Episcopal Health Foundation (EHF) partnered with JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI) to conduct a national landscape analysis of community health center (CHC) merger and acquisition (M&A) trends over the past five years.

The purpose of this analysis is to better understand the factors contributing to M&A for CHCs, including facilitators, barriers, and lessons learned, in order to identify ways in which philanthropic organizations such as EHF can support health centers in Texas that are interested in considering the process.

This report presents findings from our literature review, details key themes gathered from interviews with national subject matter experts and health center leaders, and outlines recommendations based on this data.
