We’ve been spending time listening to our grantees across Texas through real conversations about what they’re navigating right now.
What we’re hearing is consistent. Funding is becoming more uncertain, especially with cuts and changes across federal and state sources in 2025. Organizations are having to stretch dollars further, rethink programs, and make difficult decisions, all while demand for services continues to grow.
Those conversations and the lived experience of our partners are influencing how we design and deliver our work. From program priorities to grantmaking, we’re working to stay grounded in what our partners need and where flexibility matters most.
This important post by C.J. Eisenbarth Hager, EHF’s Vice President for Grants, reflects what we’re hearing across Texas. It’s part of EHF’s Digging Deeper series, where we take a closer look at what we’re learning alongside our partners.
C.J.’s article was also recently featured by Grantmakers in Health (GIH) as part of the organization’s Views from the Field project.
