DESCRIPTION:EHF Mental Health Learning Network\nHosted by the EHF Congregational Engagement Team and mental health partners Lynda Frost and Anna Jackson \n \nREGISTER HERE! \nThe Episcopal Health Foundation invites you to take part in a Learning Community composed of a series of 90-minute sessions aimed at exploring how we can create connection and promote the mental health and well-being of people in our communities and congregations.  \n Are the Kids Alright? Children’s Mental Health in Texas  \n Date:  Thursday\, August 26\, 2021\n Time:  11:30AM – 1:00PM CDT \nThis month’s learning network session explores children’s mental health\, with a particular emphasis on the ways the education system and mental health intersect. Our learning network guides Lynda Frost and Anna Jackson will be joined by Angie Jackson\, an educator\, advocate\, and Master Level Certified Family Partner with deep expertise in children’s mental health. \nIn the session\, we will touch on:\n•	The systems that intersect with children and youth mental health services\, such as education\, primary care\, juvenile justice\, foster care\, and child welfare.\n•	A developmental view of children’s mental health.\n•	Examples and stories about children’s mental health within education\, in particular.\n•	Resources and referrals specific to children\, youth\, and families. \nREGISTER HERE! \nMeet Our Guest Presenter!\n\nAngie Jackson was born and raised in Chicago\, IL.  Life’s events led her to combine her passion for teaching with the field of parenting and mental health. Angie taught school in the inner city of Chicago for over 15 years before moving to Texas. The move to Texas led her on an exciting journey as she navigated the mental health system with her son.  This journey allowed her to combine the worlds of education and mental health. Combining those subject areas\, she has become an expert trainer and facilitator. Angie has experience in training Certified Family Partners\, Nurturing Program\, Youth and teen Mental Health First Aide. As a trainer and consultant\, she brings innovative ideas and enlightening perspectives to new family partners\, certified family partners\, parents\, staff and supervisors. Angie’s background includes being a parent\, teacher\, trainer\, supervisor of staff working with youth and their families.
