SUMMARY:EHF e-Common - Online EHF Gatherings for Learning and Connection (Mental Health)
DESCRIPTION:e-Common – Online EHF Gatherings for Learning and Connection \n Date: Friday\, March 27th\n Time: 12PM – 1:30PM CST \nREGISTER HERE! \nA Conversation about Mental Health and Well-Being\nHosted by the EHF Congregational Engagement Team and mental health partners Lynda Frost and Anna Jackson \nThe Episcopal Health Foundation invites you to take part in this 90-minute session aimed at exploring how we can create connection and promote the mental health and well-being of people in our communities and congregations\, even as we gather primarily in virtual environments. Together\, we will explore the challenges and surprising opportunities that are emerging in this moment. \nThis session is for Episcopal Congregations looking for imaginative ways to connect. It will be of interest to those of you wanting to get a bit more experience using virtual meeting platforms to invite meaningful conversation\, and for those of you who are thinking about the wellness of your own community. \nWhat You Can Expect in this Session\n– We will talk about our experiences with COVID-19 in our communities and the complexities we face as we aim to create connection.\n– We will exchange tangible resources and share ideas about how to support wellness\, even as we navigate “social” (physical?!) distancing.\n– We will explore terrain related to what it feels like to be with other folks in virtual spaces\, along with the impact of COVID-19.\n– Some folks will be really familiar with gathering online\, and some folks will be new to it. We’ll help each other out. There will be lots of exploration and experimentation. It will be messy.\n– Together\, we’ll make discoveries about working in groups that gather in virtual environments and see what we make of that. \nWhat You’ll Need in Order to Meaningfully Participate\n– Zoom\, which can be downloaded here: https://zoom.us/download. Zoom lets you connect in a variety of ways – from a laptop\, phone app\, or by dialing in. You can even combine things (for instance using the phone dial-in for audio and the computer video). Test your system here: https://zoom.us/test\n– This isn’t a session on how to use Zoom\, but you’ll get some good experience WITH Zoom during the time we’re together\, and it might give you some ideas for how you can gather people in your own community online. Learn more about Zoom: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/206618765-Zoom-Video-Tutorials\n– Sound tends to be better when people wear headphones\, but it’s fine for many people without them. FYI\, when you join Zoom video will automatically be turned on. You can manually turn this off when you arrive.\n– A quiet-enough space to hear the session and contribute yourself.\n– Paper and a writing utensil.\n– Some patience\, your sense of humor\, a little bit of a taste for adventure\, or at least some curiosity. \nREGISTER HERE! \nThe Episcopal Health Foundation Congregational Engagement Team works with the Episcopal congregations in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas to deepen their outreach ministries engaging in building healthy communities.
