Food Security: Hunger and poverty are core concerns for church outreach ministries and often feel overwhelming when we consider how to have a meaningful impact in our community. With resources and wisdom from the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty (formerly The Texas Hunger Initiative), you will learn how you can reach into schools, local organizations and businesses to partner in existing efforts or to deepen your current community ministry. The Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty takes a systems approach that interconnects local efforts across the state of Texas.Interactive Facilitation Techniques: This interactive workshop will help participants improve their facilitation skills to increase the effectiveness of their congregation, collaborative, coalition, mission team, or community group. Participants will learn how to effectively guide groups to accomplish the best meeting outcomes.Language Justice: This workshop explores how to enhance our engagement of people who are not English-language dominant or who are from different cultures. It will show practical steps you can take to make your spaces and meetings more inviting and inclusive of those who speak different languages or are from different backgrounds.
