5 upcoming learning opportunities, including the National Called to Transformation workshop

Learn more about conferences and workshops being held this Summer and Fall which can benefit your congregation and ministries.

EHF continues to invest in congregations to develop leadership skills, build relationships with communities, and improve community health through ministry and outreach programs. We’ll continue to connect congregations with upcoming programs, training and events through community organizations.

EHF has identified the following upcoming opportunities for your congregation and community:

  • Called to Transformation: Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) Workshop
The Episcopal Church and Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD) are offering the national Called to Transformation workshop in Houston, TX this coming November and space is limited!

As an asset-based approach to engaging church and community, the workshop is focused on Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) and the idea that individuals, associations, and institutions have the gifts and talents needed to address the needs of their community.

The Called to Transformation, ABCD Facilitator Formation Workshop, is open to clergy and lay leaders from across the Episcopal Church and will teach the theory and practice of ABCD work. Participants then begin the process of creating a work plan to implement an ABCD project in their own ministry community. Trained facilitators will be prepared to lead their congregation through this process and train others in Asset Based Community Development.

The one-day convening will provide innovative approaches, fresh ideas and the right connections to help address social issues attendees may be passionate about.

Attendees will learn leading theories and practices from experts and the opportunity to develop partnerships to lead to greater community impact and social change. The three-part series meets on three Saturdays to provide time for participants to digest the information and form community among the group, emphasizes radical hospitality (accepting everyone, no matter their background or opinion), and uses Eric Law’s mutual invitation method for sharing. The series also includes other concepts from Eric Law’s book The Wolf Shall Dwell with the Lamb.
